A TRIBUTE TO THE LATE EXECUTIVE OFFICER

A Tribute To The Late Executive Officer,
Bishop Witclive Charles Hamilton
Of The Church Of God And Saints Of Christ

Biship W. C. Hamilton’s way of life was a beacon of light to those who came in contact with him. This great man of God was a Bishop indeed. During his life time he exemplified himself according to 1st Timothy chapter 3 verse : “A Bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour given to hospitality, apt to teach.” Bishop was seen as a leader, a great preacher, a teacher, a father and a friend, just to name a few. He was a very straightforward person. He said what he meant and meant what he said.

This man of God was respected and feared by all, especially by the younger daughters. On Sabbaths during the recess hours, they would take it as a joke to say “the Bishop calls you.” Reaching his office door, he would be the first one to say, “All hail daughter, what is on your mind?” What touched me most about the Bishop, was his humor, thoughtfulness and care for the saints. He did not want to know the saints were overtaxed or kept back at the services. Bishop gave a joke once by saying “I will dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life but not all the nights.”

This man of God was not only interested in ones spiritual life but he would enquire about the family, their education and even your place of employment. He would also tell stories about the church and how it came along.

Even after diabetes had ravaged Bishop’s health, he continued to pratice tremendous leadership qualities, working hard for the Lord. Bishop’s struggle with this desease came to an end on Thamuz 3, 1990.

We will always remember him for his great work and love. His memories we will forever cherish.
