It Is Not Possible To Deceive The Elect

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DECEIVE THE ELECT

Mat 24:24 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Are you aware that in today’s world many preachers sell Christ to individuals by way of promising cures for various ailments, problems and situations in their lives?  It is not unusual to pass by some places of worship and find a list of diseases or problems listed on a wall or a chart from which people may be cured.  The funny thing though, is that various conditions and problems are listed under specific days of the week.  Thus signifying a kind of limitation to when resolutions to situations can happen.

Christ knew that these days would come and so He told the disciples to be careful.  He told them that many would come saying they were the Christ and would deceive many.  He said they would perform great signs and wonders, even fire would come down from heaven and some would believe that it is the act of God.  But read the word of the Lord. Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Rev 13:14  “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast…“

We are living in desperate times.  The prices of food, fuel and clothing are going up daily.  Yet the salaries are not going up.  We still have to provide for our families with what we have despite the increases in the commodities around us.  How do we cope?  It is easy to fall into the trap of running to people whom we hear offering solutions to our problems.  Everyone is looking for a bargain.  Everyone is looking for help and some easy way out.  Yet there are really no easy solutions with man.   God is the answer to our problem.  Yet not everyone that says, “Lord, Lord is doing the will of the Father.” (Luke 6:46 “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”)

Can you imagine that!  Look at the scriptures in Matt 7:22  “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?”

Mat 7:23  “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.“

This is the word of the Lord.  Just as Jesus warned the disciples in those days to be careful He is still warning us today.  We have to be careful when we see and hear certain things.  Not everyone that says Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of God.

“Desperate times call for desperate actions”, somebody once said.  But let us not be so desperate that we find ourselves outside of the kingdom of God when He returns.  It is so wonderful to know that because God said the elect would not be deceived, then they will not be deceived.  No matter what happens.  No matter what comes or goes the elect will not be deceived.  Where will you stand on that day?  Are you one of His elect?
