Kiss The Son!

KISS THE SON!

Psalm 2:12 “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”

It is January 19, 2010, and it has been reported that a 5.8 earthquake shook the Island of Grand Cayman this morning. This, after several islands in the Caribbean have felt earthquakes or tremors, since the 7.0 quake which hit Haiti on January 12, 2010. All these countries are situated along the Enriquillo Plantain Garden Fault Zone. The countries along the region of this fault are being advised to prepare for more frequent earthquakes. The reports further state that the possibility of an earthquake of the 7.0 magnitude is possible again.

To hear the scientists explain the reason for the earthquakes is very interesting. The bible however informs us in

St. Matthew 24:7 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.” So these occurrences are not a surprise to the Saints of Christ. They were prophesied long ago and are expected to occur as the coming of the Saviour draws closer. These are just a few of the signs which signal His return and should indicate to the Saints the need to draw closer to our soon coming King.

Yes, it is time to be “Kissing Up To The Son!” Very often when we want something from someone in a position of importance, we “kiss up” to them. This is exactly what we need to be doing now in relation to our Saviour. We need to be on our knees, beseeching Him for His mercies. We need His protection, His peace, His love, His Help. We need Him to draw us closer to Him. We need to be in constant communication with Him. We need to experience His presence at all times. We need Him to teach us how to live lovingly with each other and share what we have with each other. We need to beseech Him to show us how to serve Him in Spirit and in Truth.

In times like these, we need to be “Kissing Up to the Son!” We are unable to stand His anger. His anger at the sin of Adam and Eve has lasted until today. Look at the state of man today. Look at the world in which we find ourselves. It is still a beautiful world. Yet there are individuals who have chosen to make the lives of others miserable. Every now and then God has to make His presence felt by the inhabitants of the world, in a real way. Hell is a real place prepared for those who oppose the ordinances of God. Contrary to what many people believe, God has prepared the Holy City for those who love Him and He has prepared Hell for those who hate Him. These places are real. They are not figments of the imagination. Those who are blessed by God with the gift of eternal life will inherit the Holy City. Those who disobey Him will inherit hell. These are times when we must turn the search light inside and make sure we are on the right track. It is not about our good works, Good works will not save us! It is not about our individual righteousness! That will not save us either. If we empty out our bankbooks and our closets and send it all to Haiti, it will not assure us a place in the Holy City.

It is required that we seek the Lord, like the centurion did and He will lead us to His truth. Then we must confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that God raised Him from the dead as recorded in Romans 10:9-10. Then as he told the rich ruler in St. Matthew 19:17 to keep the Commandments of God. God is the only one that can give us eternal life; we cannot give ourselves by good works.

It is time to Kiss the Son! “Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him!”
